Eco-Friendly Asphalt Containing Recycled High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE): Performance Assessment and Cost Analysis

Utilization of the recycled waste materials for new products is considered as a viable solution saving environment. This study paper targets performance evaluation hot-mix asphalt made with modified bitumen 60/70 containing 3 % and 5 high-density polyethylene (HDPE) (by weight optimum bitumen). First, properties mixtures including specific density, penetration depth, ductility, softening point were measured. Then, rutting depth resilient modulus Findings indicated suitability HDPE available in Iranian market development eco-friendly mixtures.
